He translated Aristotles work and commented on it.

His translations of Aristoltle and Porphyry were used throughout the Middle Ages.
Up until 12th century they were used as main manikin of learning logic in Europe



-He was the Master of Officers under Theodoric-who was the king of Italy
-Because of his position he had many people who were envious of him, which make him many enemies
-According to Boethius some letters that were written by him were despitefully misunderstood which made him look like he was unpatriotic to Theodoric. Consequently, Theodoric believed these and he was found guilty of capital crimes and was sent to prison

Others verify it is because he had defended Senator Albinus, who was being charged with Treason and because of this Boethius was charged with treason.

Boethius was non allowed to defend himself and all his property was taken away.
Because his father in law defended Boethius, he was also executed.
